David Zilkha – bsf@swingdancebristol.com

David’s dance career started in contemporary dance and he discovered Lindy Hop and Blues in 2000 and quickly became obsessed. He has been teaching internationally for around 15 years, and was involved in setting up the London Lindy Exchange, the London Balboa Festival, and Blues Revolution.

He moved to Bristol in 2009 with the intention of building a large and vibrant dance community locally, which is linked to the worldwide dance communities. He thinks he’s doing well, but come along and judge for yourself. For 2016, he’s planning a teacher/promoter training weekend, and a European teaching tour by motorcycle in May/June.

Stephen Salinger – bsf@swingdancebristol.com

Stephen has been dancing for over 10 years. He spent many years obsessed with his new hobby until he went to circus school in 2009. Then he was torn between swing dance and circus so ended up pursuing both. While David grew the swing scene in Bristol, Stephen came up with ideas of how to share the joy of the dance with the circus community and vice versa. This first took place at The Swing Thing extravaganza in 2010, quickly followed by four Bristol Swing Festivals. Earlier this year the cabaret element of BSF left Bristol and ventured off to Glastonbury Festival where a Swing Circus show appeared on the stage of the Big Top.
